Talk on Trends in Online Trademark and Marketing Law

In April, I gave a talk in Israel at an inaugural event to celebrate the life and work of Avron Gabrieli, one of Israel’s most venerable and well-known IP lawyers who died in 2015. Initially, the talk topic was styled as trademarks and social media, but honestly not much new has developed on that front recently. As a result, I decided to use the talk to declare some issues dead and focus on where the toughest issues will arise in the future; and I proceeded to declare some of this blog’s favorite perennial topics “over.” If you are a regular reader, most of the declarations of death won’t be surprising, but perhaps you haven’t heard me state it so bluntly before.
