But Pamela’s point about a “mere scribe” is an interesting one.

So is the logical next question is what happens if the shutter is triggered automatically, when someone is holding the camera at the correct angle. Would that be “AI created” and thus uncopyrightable content, since the person setting it up isn’t the one pushing the button?

Clearly the answer to this conundrum is a selfie stick.

He set up an argument that the button pusher was a mere scribe. That sounds right to me.

But even so, the notion that it can’t be joint because he wanted to own it is stupid. It should be joint if it is actually jointly authored, not if someone wanted it to be.
