Minnesota is one of the few states with a divided legislature, with the Democratic-Farmer-Labor (Democrats) controlling the House and the Republicans controlling the Senate. The Senate version of this omnibus bill was sent to the House. The House replaced the Senate text with its own text from the previous House companion bill, which includes the social media provisions discussed here. The Senate bill that was referred to the House doesn&#039;t include any of the social media provisions. So the companion bills will end up in conference committee. And this bill includes bipartisan appropriations for bonus pay for frontline workers during the pandemic and repayment of unemployment insurance taxes, both of which are popular with the public and businesses.]]></description>
