Yes, lets hope. However, I am doubtful congress will ever get a Fed anti slapp legislation passed. Very unfortunate.

FYI, I was the defendant in this case...https://blog.ericgoldman.org/archives/2021/07/blogger-defeats-defamation-claims-buckley-v-moore.htm

And NO, I did not extort anyone.

Yes, I have been sued in state and fed courts several times over the years. Have been dragged into all sorts of weird courtrooms. Have even won two anti slapps, one state and one fed. Even appealed a denied anti slapp. What have I learned?

In my experience, is someone sues you over an article, then simply write another article and let them sue you again. In the Buckley case, I actually published a brand new 2021 article that was outrageously inflammatory and made the original article seem like a love letter. I hoped he would amend his complaint to add the new article, but he finally crawled back into the hole he came from. His case is dead and gone.

Plaintiffs lawyers are the worst. And the worst plaintiffs lawyers that specialize in strangling all forms of free speech are the rat bastards at Mudd Law. Charles Mudd is just as his name is spelled...a dirty rotten, disgusting, lying, cheating, lazy, fat bastard, ambulance chaser. A scumbag of the highest order.

How do you think this language will play out on fees? I know people personally involved in two expensive cases in which the court ruled in their favor fairly thoroughly and awarded fees. But the court rejected the reasonable customary fees charged by the anti-SLAPP suits’ attorneys and awarded a fairly unreasonably small fraction. The costs were high because of the intensive litigation style engaged in by the parties that lost the anti-SLAPP suit—which makes me wonder if you can win an anti-SLAPP suit if your fees aren’t actually covered.
