In reply to <a href="https://blog.ericgoldman.org/archives/2021/06/amicus-briefs-against-floridas-censorship-law-sb-7072.htm#comment-3005">Eric Goldman</a>.

1) From the first Google result for "Eric Goldman Net Neutrality":

"If we could solve the competition problem, maybe the net neutrality issue would be less troubling. Until then, it seems unbelievably stupid to pursue “market-based” policy solutions to net neutrality given the obviously broken broadband market—especially with market participants who have decades of experience abusing consumers and manipulating government regulators."

Seems spot on in the context of the current discussion.

2) Anyone who believes that there's any meaningful distinction between the "different layers of the telecom stack" (beyond the physical layer) from a regulatory perspective, doesn't understand that the "different layers of the telecom stack" are largely a convenient conceptual fiction from the perspective of anyone other than a network engineer. So is the equivalency in your final thought false or disingenuous? And since when is net neutrality "pro censorship"? It's a lot of things, but not that.

This comment clearly wasn't actually trying to advance a productive discussion. In the spirt of the Florida law, I've chosen to voluntarily approve this junk comment anyway. Still, I will note two things:

1) Can you please remind me where I am on record supporting net neutrality?
2) It's Internet Law 101 that different layers of the telecom stack can and should be regulated differently, so it's not hypocritical to be pro-net neutrality and anti-Florida's censorship law. In fact, anyone who advances false equivalencies among telecom stack layers is either putting their ignorance of Internet Law on public display or engaged in disingenuous argumentation, typically for pro-censorship goals.

You and many of the listed amicus are on record supporting net neutrality. So are you admitting the hypocrisy of these positions? If not, why not?

[A final thought: hey, all of the so-called liberals who over the past 15 years have championed "search neutrality" or advocated for "net neutrality, but applied to edge providers"....where u at on SB 7072? It seems like SB 7072 fulfilled your wishes, so are you going to be filing amicus briefs in support of the Florida law? If not, why not?]
