[…] Will You Be My Herbalentine? Although Iowa State University initially allowed NORML, a student-run marijuana advocacy group, to create a T-shirt with the school’s trademark beside the group’s name, the school subsequently disallowed the group from printing any additional shirts after receiving a “formal legislative inquiry” from an Iowa legislature GOP staffer about whether the school’s Trademark Office had approved the shirt; what followed was a lawsuit where the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals found a First Amendment violation, claiming that the university’s refusal to reprint the shirts was motivated by viewpoint discrimination.
I clearly remember smoking cannabis the first time. I was a teen in high school (circa 1973) and the staff was feeding us a constant stream of reefer madness propaganda. After the mild amazing experience was over I knew that all the anti marijuana rhetoric was complete nonsense designed to create fear. At that point my trust in "the system" was broken forever... The experience was nothing like what had been described by the Reefer Madness propaganda we were subjected to in school. Through the years I watched the effects of drugs and alcohol on my fellow students in high school, college and life.

In 42 years of cannabis consumption I can never recall a case where anyone I knew ran heck bent into trouble while intoxicated on cannabis. Forgot something, lost something, missed appointment, these are the losses I see from cannabis use. Drinking alcohol is another case entirely where I could tell stories all day of bad drunken behavior, auto accidents, lost friends, addiction and broken families.

Clearly if there is a gateway drug to bad and risky social behavior it is alcohol with its powerful ability to lower and remove human inhibitions. There are unwanted babies all over this nation that started their lives in the womb of a drunk teenage girl. Cannabis NOT SO MUCH! The US government is blatantly lying about cannabis and has been since the 1920s. Because of these lies don't expect kids to believe a single word the government says.

I am 60 and have been using cannabis off and on for 43 years. I'm a husband, father, electronics engineer, musician, community volunteer and successful business owner. I vaporize cannabis (no smoke, no smell, no problems). I am in excellent health and I run 20-30 miles per week. I ran a marathon May 22 2016 in 3:35:36. I am just the tip of a very large iceberg! Critical mass has been reached! According to the CDC web site no one has ever died from cannabis intoxication in all medical history. How long do we have to suffer the lies and ridiculous nonsense from a government whose own studies have shown cannabis all but completely harmless by comparison to prescription drugs, tobacco and booze will directly kill over 650,000 people per year.

Legalize, regulate and TAX!
