Legal issues aside, it seems that society is bifurcating in a way that is unhealthy. On one hand society is becoming much more comfortable with sexuality, porn is everywhere, and even “slut” is worn with pride is some corners. At the same time officialdom seems to become every more sensitive to even the slightest provocation and it’s “Katy bar the door!” to a woman in a swimsuit.

While not taking a position on which trend is correct, this type of social cognitive dissonance cannot last. Something is going to give.
