My step-father is in his late 70s. He has been on a diet of greasy steaks, Diet Coke, cigarettes, and no workouts for a good half of that time. In 2011 he was – somewhat unsurprisingly – diagnosed with lung cancer, the variety that responds well to chemo, but tends to reappear within a year. After the required number of rounds of therapy he is cancer-free since 2012. Best wishes.

Same story for FAK mutation. Check it out.
